Support our Mission of Charitable Care

All proceeds from the Art & Soup Charity Event go to the CNS charitable care and programming. CNS is dedicated to providing compassionate care, regardless of a person's ability to pay. Thanks to our donors (you!), we can say 'yes' to patients without insurance or the ability to pay.

Every day we receive requests for Charitable Care on behalf of those in need. The stories below illustrate the impact of funds raised through the Art & Soup Charity Event:

In June, Castleview Hospital in Moab admitted a 54-year-old female patient who was in respiratory distress and had an altered mental state. She was diagnosed with uncontrolled diabetes and didn't have insurance. The hospital helped her apply for Medicaid and reached out to CNS for help with diabetes education and training once the patient was discharged. Our donors made it possible for us to provide 4 skilled nursing visits, 4 physical therapy visits and 2 occupational therapy visits to support her transition home.

In July, the Huntsman Cancer Institute contacted CNS and requested 3 days of general inpatient (GIP) hospice for a 43-year-old female patient with end-stage cancer. She had no insurance and was receiving charitable care from the Huntsman Cancer Institute. After suffering a steady decline, her family decided to end treatment and transition to hospice. The patient's uncontrollable pain made going home unfeasible. Thanks to our donors (you!), she was able to receive compassionate end-of-life care in the hospital setting.
