We have some pretty amazing volunteers that help fulfill Community Nursing Services’ mission of charitable care regardless of a person’s ability to pay, and we are thrilled to recognize two of those outstanding volunteers: Deann Kelsey and Ken Paget. Deann and Ken were recognized with a Heart & Hands Award at Utah Philanthropy Day, a prestigious honor is given to those whose volunteer work makes a lasting impact on their organizations' missions.
Deann is the chair of the 2026 Art & Soup Charity Event Action Team, the dedicated group of volunteers who are key in planning and organizing the annual event that is the largest fundraiser for CNS charitable care and programming. Deann steps into the chair role after several years of volunteering for the Art & Soup Action Team, on which she has played a crucial role in securing in-kind donations for the Opportunity Drawings.
Ken is a longtime supporter of CNS, volunteering for the Art & Soup event for about 20 years. Ken is part of the army of volunteers that keep Art & Soup running smoothly each year, serving as a roaming cashier and more. In addition to volunteering his time, Ken has also donated printing services to help promote CNS and Art & Soup.
