Congratulations to CNS Volunteer of the Year, Simone Black, who has been an outstanding hospice volunteer since 2011. Along with visiting hospice patients, Simone has served on the Art & Soup volunteer committee for many years. Simone and her company, Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, sponsor the memorial area at Art & Soup. The award was started in 2018 and is named after Karl Miller, another great CNS volunteer.
10 Facts About Hospice
Home Health Services - How often is it covered?
A home health care agency usually coordinates the services your doctor orders for you. Before you start getting your home health care, the home health agency should tell you how much Medicare will pay. The agency should also tell you if any items or services they give you aren't covered by Medicare, and how much you'll have to pay for them. This should be explained by both talking with you and in writing.

Hospice At Home - What To Expect
Did you know that 80% of patients with a life limiting disease say they do not want to be hospitalized or put in intensive care when they are dying. With this being said, it is surprising to learn that only 25% of Americans die in their home. This seems to be because the majority of us are not aware that hospice can provide level of care needed in the home. Hospice care helps bring peace of mind to families who want to honor their loved one’s wish to remain at home.
