HISTORY OF MEMORIAL ORNAMENT PROGRAM

The Memorial Ornament Program is coordinated by long-time CNS supporter, Simone Black, whose husband was cared for by CNS during the final months of his life, 30 years ago. Although a great deal of time has passed since we served Simone and her family, the memories of compassionate care remains. Simone designed the Memorial Ornament Program as a way to give back to an organization that helped her family during one of the most difficult times of her life.

Simone is the Community Outreach Director for Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Homes. She had the opportunity of growing up around the family funeral home business and learned that it is an honor and a privilege to help families when they have lost a loved one.

Simone is the former President of the Utah Aging Alliance, is on the Board of the Homecare and Hospice Association of Utah, a Volunteer with Community Nursing Services and also a Spiritual Care Volunteer at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. She is also a Certified Grief Support Specialist through the World Spiritual Health Organization and values every opportunity to help others and improve the way of life for those in need within our community.
